During the development of the project, we published 3 documents about the technology that we are developing and preparing for the market. Some decisions were changed, but the main idea and goal remained the same — effective financial management.
Since the ICO boom, several years have passed, blockchain and cryptocurrencies have become synonymous and are perceived only as a means of earning money and the obvious advantages of using the technology itself in combination with others are of little interest to anyone. A user, business representatives, or some government officials associate the word “blockchain” directly with cryptocurrency or Bitcoin, without thinking about using systems built on a distributed registry in the current reality.
As we mentioned above, during the development of the project, several documents were published in which we announced our technology and clearly said that we are mixing modern concepts and approaching the market from an economic and scientific point of view, borrowing the best from Bitcoin, Ethereum, DASH, and other alternative currencies.
It is important to note that the concept of Bitcoin or Monero will be different from the concept of TkeyNet. These are other areas and practical application that some market participants may perceive as similar, but this is far from the case.
“When you innovate, you must be prepared for a prolonged lack of understanding of your actions on the part of your environment. You can do something you believe in, but for a long time, people who only wish you well may criticize your endeavors. When faced with such criticism, ask yourself — Are they right? And if you answer this question positively, accept the criticism and adjust your work accordingly. If the answer is negative, if you are firmly convinced of your rightness, you should prepare for a long defense, defending your positions. This approach is a key component of innovation.” ©
The idea of Bitcoin is beautiful, even if it has not yet been accepted by society as planned, but at least the idea of using Bitcoin as a means of accumulating value and storing savings has a place to be. Bitcoin actively strives for a high price mark and dominates the market by more than 50%, and this is a great result. Bitcoin set the necessary vector for many developers around the world, people were able to review the systems used and make their own decisions based on the Bitcoin core, for example, DASH or Ethereum, and users, in turn, learned about such a phenomenon as cryptocurrency.
In General, what was this introduction for? That TKEY should be considered as a universal asset, without defining it as a cryptocurrency. The question may immediately arise, why is this so? It doesn’t have explicit currency properties? Bitcoin also does not have the properties of cash but is called a cryptocurrency, and the types of applications of the peer-to-peer payment system Bitcoin and TkeyNet can differ significantly from each other.

The purpose of this publication is to tell you about the new features of TkeyNet, when the official transition to the new Protocol will take place, and why TKEY is a universal asset that simply needs liquidity? In General, we will talk about the clear advantages of switching to new technologies that we have been striving for so long and about your benefits of using them accordingly.

What is TkeyNet, and what are its advantages?

TkeyNet is an infrastructure that combines various solutions for users, businesses, and the public sector. Secure corporate networks, payment processors, liquidity, cross-border payments, trading tools, information security, instant exchanges, investment tools. One platform — millions of opportunities.
https://preview.redd.it/bwewihsdc1b51.png?width=700&format=png&auto=webp&s=4bfc1343b46a1eb51f0b972cac509cc1893f3fa4
When creating TkeyNet, we immediately turned to e-cash protocols, concepts of electronic currencies, considered the movements of Bank international transfers, and also drew attention to the obvious complexity of these systems. Therefore, to build a high-quality architecture of TkeyNet, the team took as a basis — blockchain technology, cryptography, payment and banking system, electronic cash protocols, exchanges, stock markets, DHT, and other p2p networks.
Now more than ever, businesses, users, and most financial market participants need reliable and modern systems that will meet the needs of the market.
For example, a user wants to quickly send funds to another user, and they do not want to think about how the blockchain works and who the “miners” are and what they do for the network. Any of us want to open the app and click a few buttons on the screen to pay for a particular service or send money to relatives abroad and the most importantly, know that the funds will reach you quickly and with a minimum Commission. Or let’s say you came to India, you have some funds in Bitcoin, but you would like to pay for your purchases in the local currency — the Indian rupee without extra conversions.
You are the owner of a payment system or Bank, and you want to receive % for conversion transactions, or banks want to create their consortium for cross-border payments. Either you are an entrepreneur and plan to open an exchange or trading platform for trading various assets, not necessarily digital, but, for example, gold and diamonds, or you are a young and purposeful startup team and want to quickly launch your Digital Bank, or you do not want to do business, and you have several million euros or dollars, you want to get % of their use.
https://preview.redd.it/hkv2xcpfc1b51.png?width=626&format=png&auto=webp&s=4ae497765a2d02b66046d5a112eb0dd4f1eeb0bc
TkeyNet makes these features available to all participants.
As we can see with you, there are quite a lot of use cases, and it may seem that TKEY is again torn into 100500 different directions, but this is far from the case. Here, a specific and clear direction is Finance and its movement.

How TkeyNet works

Remember, we said that — “to develop the platform on a global level, it is necessary to reach a consensus between government regulation, business, and society. We understand that it is impossible to achieve 100% of this, but it is possible to create favorable conditions favorable to all parties.”
How will the system work? All participants are connected to the system using TkeyNet technology that allows the financial gateway to control their transactions with increased speed, transparency, and efficiency. Independent verification servers constantly compare their transaction records. To hack the system, you will need to get access to all the devices that are logged in.
https://preview.redd.it/ltwgjrhhc1b51.png?width=700&format=png&auto=webp&s=413d03504eafa2b496cf99d837b6a2a1c9ba6818
TkeyNet solutions offer a cryptographically secure, end-to-end payment flow with the immutability of transactions and redundancy of information contained in them. It is developed to meet each financial gateway’s risk, privacy, and compliance requirements. Since the software is developed to be easily integrated into the existing financial infrastructure, it minimizes any integration costs and failures, and also meets international standards (ISO, etc.).

TkeyNet can be a neutral utility for financial institutions and systems

A gateway is an organization that allows users to invest money and take money out of a pool of liquidity. The gateway accepts currency deposits from users and issues balances to the TkeyNet blockchain.
TkeyNet Protocol provides a single source of truth for counterparties while maintaining the confidentiality of payment data of Bank clients.
TKEY is a universal bill (digital obligation) in the distributed registry TkeyNet.
Gateways install specialized software for interacting with the distributed registry and other system participants. Users, brokers, and other participants interact with the system via mobile or web interfaces. Gateways act as a link between the distributed registry, brokers, users, and other services that allow you to make quick transactions.
https://preview.redd.it/igdiw4tjc1b51.png?width=700&format=png&auto=webp&s=3a25f8f6b74a0cebf2450d05a7bf7c675547e624
The participants of the system make payments between themselves by using cryptographically signed transactions denominated in digital obligation. This type of transaction uses an internal registry.
In the case of working with Fiat currency and other assets, such as securities and precious metals, the registry records the amounts owed with assets presented as debt obligations. All accounts and transactions are cryptographically secure and verified algorithmically. Payments can only be authorized by the account holder, and all payments are processed automatically, without any third parties or intermediaries. The TkeyNet Protocol checks balances and accounts inside the system for transferring payments and sends payment notifications with minimal delay, which ensures fast calculations in the system.
For more specialized solutions can be created by the Central gateways and the gateways just. A Central gateway is an organization that allows users to invest money and take money out of the liquidity pool. Gateway is an organization that interacts with the Central gateway. Accepts and exchanges digital liabilities for other assets, such as securities.
TkeyNet globally reduces the number of different expenses and automates operational tasks, simplifies and reduces the cost of conducting monetary transactions, and improves traditional financial services.
We understand that it is not easy to tell all the principles of the TkeyNet system in a single publication, especially one that deals with neither one nor two issues. Therefore, you should consider this material as a basis, a base that will help you learn the information that is related to the TkeyNet Protocol most easily after the release of TkeyNet.
Moving a little away from corporate solutions, we suggest you recall some theses from our roadmap, which was published on the official website in the period from September 2018 to November 2019:
“The introduction of the exchanger in web wallets and the app will allow users to send money in one currency, and the recipient will receive it in another currency. For example, a user can buy Tkeycoin for dollars and exchange it for euros or Bitcoin or Ethereum at the current exchange rate. This functionality provides full control of funds through a single trusted and most secure source. Users no longer need to create multiple accounts on third-party resources to make an exchange into a particular currency. With the development of the network, it is possible to implement a multi-exchange that works on the principle of a payment bridge, when the user sends funds to Tkeycoin, and the recipient chooses the receiving currency, let’s say Litecoin, the funds are automatically converted” ©
https://preview.redd.it/htf048hmc1b51.png?width=700&format=png&auto=webp&s=9be3fe4895b5bece5c7c0d72548d4724e46556a7
We wrote above that TKEY can in principle be used as a universal asset, acting as a digital obligation or an asset as an exchange. By the way, references to this were also published on the official website — tkeycoin.com. In simple words, using one of our web interfaces, you can access TKEYRUB or TKEYUSD or any other asset, such as TKEYGOLD.
TKEYUSD, TKEYRUB, and TKEYGOLD are symbols and can be called differently in the system, for example, TKUSD or GOLDTKEY, so now they should be considered as an example.

Why is TKEY a universal asset?

As before, you can easily and quickly send TKEY to any member of the network and TKEY will have liquidity on the exchange also, TKEY allows you to fast exchange for euros, dollars, or other currencies.
https://i.redd.it/qapkdnvoc1b51.gif
For the interface, the applications will display functions of digital assets 1:1 to a particular currency, for example, TKEY to RUB, TKey to EUR, or TKEY to Dirhams or TKEY to the pound and vice versa, respectively.
https://preview.redd.it/0ipx86fqc1b51.png?width=700&format=png&auto=webp&s=a406e9c0f181a5d0b1ecde347511954ba61bf433
Therefore, as we said above, TKEY should not be regarded as a cryptocurrency, it is a universal unit inside the system TkeyNet, which may refer to transaction information as exchanges of obligations between banks and transaction TKEY -> TKEY between users, or to carry information about the exchange on the exchange or the exchange of digital assets or gold variations quite a lot, for most of the functions we describe in the release day TkeyNet.

What are the advantages for companies and developers?

First of all, we strive to open the doors for all platform participants. Only through synergy and cooperation can we accelerate the pace of development of the entire system and the introduction of new technologies in the market.
The platform will open doors for developers, who in turn can create technological solutions based on TkeyNet. A working environment will be created, and integration with the TkeyNet platform will be as easy as with the documented SDK or plug-ins. In the course of development, API documentation and ready-made SDKs for developers will be published.
https://i.redd.it/31x1k7gsc1b51.gif
This will make it easy to use and implement TkeyNet technology in various types of applications, for example, you want to create fast exchanges, we provide you with a framework, back-end, and API, and you create a front-end and launch your service, get your Commission, and are an independent project in the market. An important point is that integration into the existing infrastructure takes place while maintaining the decentralization of the TkeyNet system so that all its internal and external operations remain confidential and verified at the same time.

What are the advantages for users?

This means getting a universal tool for working with financial markets and easily converting an asset into any other asset: euro, dollars, or gold.

https://preview.redd.it/ol4964huc1b51.png?width=626&format=png&auto=webp&s=7fedfc9009201cb8c392be3f214f285d003c0d95
Also, TKEY owners should clearly understand that the more the system develops and there are more participants, namely the corporate segment, projects, and partners, the company will be more stable and thus the project assets will grow stronger.
The popularity of the platform and trust in it directly affects the price of assets, these are the key points of growth signs, the wider and more influential the spread of the company in various areas, the higher its performance in the market.

When will the long-awaited transition to TkeyNet take place?

What changes will be made to the products?

As you understand, everything will change, and this is for the better. At a minimum, products will become faster, lighter, safer, and more versatile.
Changes and new releases will be released as soon as they are ready. In TkeySpace, the TKEY libraries will be rewritten under TkeyNet. A web version of the wallet will appear, and eventually, an application with an exchange interface will be released for quick trading and exchange of various assets, not limited to digital ones. The Tkey Messenger will be adapted for TkeyNet and will be released for previously announced platforms: iOS, Android, Linux, macOS, Windows immediately with the ability to translate directly in the messenger. We will tell you about the messenger architecture on the release day.
All changes and releases will be published and announced after the release of TkeyNet.

What is radically new in TkeyNet?

There will be funds, the Protocol will become much more universal, as well as the TKEY itself. The Protocol will also exclude the possibility of attacks that could have been in Core 1.0, also, the principles of the platform will change. We will publish all technical specifications on the day of release.

Timeline for switching to TkeyNet

The transition to TkeyNet will not take place until August 2020. We will release news and instructions for switching to TkeyNet, so we recommend that you subscribe to the newsletter immediately: https://tkeycoin.com/en/newslette.

Listing on crypto exchanges

The liquidity of the TKEY asset is urgently needed for the development of the entire TkeyNet system, so the company will provide trading platforms for TKey trading and exchange.

Conclusion

The introduction of technologies using digital currencies will create the fastest transition of users and the corporate market to a new level.
FinTech direction makes it possible to manage finances in the most efficient and secure way, without violating the law. This system simplifies, reduces the cost of conducting monetary transactions, and actually improves traditional financial services.
The solution is interesting to everyone who works with money and is used to getting maximum efficiency from it: business, investors, traders, users of banking solutions, the corporate segment, etc. When using the system, large businesses get solutions for interacting with customers online, without using specialized points.
We, in turn, are open to various offers and cooperation on flexible terms. If you have any suggestions or interesting concepts, please contact us at [[email protected]](mailto:[email protected]).

https://preview.redd.it/bv08bzm0we151.png?width=496&format=png&auto=webp&s=338ba001c3a5d6999347165e7bd725b5be7f4913
Our friends and residents of Asian countries actively use QR codes in their lives, both when paying in stores and when working with websites. QR codes are used almost everywhere when renting a car or bike, we just open the phone, scan and the mode of transport becomes available for use, anything is available for rent, even a battery, even an umbrella.
“It was a hot May day. Seven-year-old Wang Jiaozui came out of school and saw his grandfather, who came to pick him up. He was standing in the sun, and his shirt was soaked with sweat. Jiaozui invited the grandfather to buy a cold Cola in the shop, but he forgot her purse at home. It turned out that this is not important — the boy took his grandfather’s smartphone and called the payment app with a QR code on the screen.” ©
What to say if QR codes are used even to identify entire farms. By pasting QR codes on farm buildings and then scanning them, government inspectors can quickly figure out who owns the building and whether its owners are violating any laws.

https://preview.redd.it/jsw2tza2we151.png?width=700&format=png&auto=webp&s=38cbb849b6c2a2aecd8b42c7d786a397d901b2cf
We must be on the trend! Now a special library generates QR codes for the desired page, any tab on the site tkeycoin.com in Chinese and Korean-accompanied by a QR code that leads to the requested page: fast, convenient, and simple.
https://preview.redd.it/73rscop3we151.png?width=700&format=png&auto=webp&s=c83229e56d612450370b43b06910225701454c60
Providing this opportunity to our colleagues and future users of Tkeycoin from Asia is a friendly approach and most importantly, a strategic step on our part. After implementing QR codes, we are undoubtedly drawn into the convenience of this function, which we recommend to You:) If you like it, we will make QR codes on the Russian and English versions of the site.

These features are the future for the function of purchasing any product or service for TKEY at any point of sale, which will form the basis of the mobile app, quickly, conveniently, and most importantly, observing the letter of the law.
All we do is build an Empire that is being built before your eyes. Every service and product is connected, so any update promises the appearance of even more cool and effective features than before.

Buying cryptocurrency for pound, dollars, euros, and other currencies

At the end of February, we told you that we are working on building a payment service that will include the provision of services: buy cryptocurrencies, sell a cryptocurrency, withdraw cryptocurrency to Bank cards, etc.
This day has come, now you can buy Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Tether USDT, Basic Attention Token (BAT), Algorand (ALGO), Tron (TRX), OKB (Token Okex.com).

https://preview.redd.it/1pm2cnv8we151.png?width=700&format=png&auto=webp&s=69473d2e5ed1b8dc75189362b46906752be29895
The purchase is available in any currency: Russian ruble, US Dollar, Euro, British pound, Ukrainian hryvnia, Indonesian rupiah, South Korean won, Japanese yen, Turkish Lira, Argentine peso.
As you can see, the currency corridors are quite extensive, which allows you to make exchanges fast and at a favorable rate. Just choose the right pair to exchange or buy, available fiat currencies: RUB, USD, EUR, GBP, UAH, IDR, KRW, JPY, TRY, ARS, available cryptocurrencies: BTC, ETH, BAT, USDT, ALGO, TRX, OKB.
Even if this wide list does not include the currency you want to buy, such as Bitcoin or USDT, it’s okay — the service will automatically convert your currency into the payment currency and the Bank will make the exchange. Exchanges take place within 1–3 minutes, it is enough to pass quick verification once, which allows you to work with a volume of > 15,000 euros per month.

https://preview.redd.it/0ln5uttawe151.png?width=700&format=png&auto=webp&s=35de9e413db35bb53f39332aa4197cd54a3e211c

Exchange of cryptocurrencies for pound, dollars, euros, and withdrawal of Bankcard

In addition to the fact that you can now easily buy a cryptocurrency for fiat currencies, pound, dollars or any other, during this week we will finish work on the withdrawal to a Bank card and you can easily withdraw your profit to the card, the most important thing is that this is a completely legal method, and all operations pass through banks and jurisdictions where work with digital assets is legalized.
This means that when you buy or make a withdrawal to the card, you get legal funds that are credited to you by the Bank or payment system.
If you are used to working with effective tools that work in a new way, or rather correctly and legally, then this service is for you. Fast crediting, easy exchange, a large selection of currency pairs, that’s what the company is betting on.
We work with the most reliable third-party partners to make your cryptocurrency process easy and convenient, and most importantly safe for You. The service supports plastic and virtual Bank cards VISA, MasterCard, MIR, and other payment systems for fast payment processing.

https://preview.redd.it/x1jnm1ccwe151.png?width=700&format=png&auto=webp&s=f86fc353ad5f207db8d233821204b521ba0b3d0e
On the exchange page, you can choose any currency pair to exchange in the opposite direction, for example, GBP to BTC or USD to BTC. Choose a suitable pair for exchange, available fiat currencies: RUB, USD, EUR, GBP, UAH, IDR, KRW, JPY, TRY, ARS, available cryptocurrencies for exchange: BTC, ETH, BAT, USDT, ALGO, TRX, OKB.
How it works
When buying cryptocurrency for the first time, your Bank reserves (holds) the requested amount, then this amount is transferred to the authorization waiting state. As soon as the Bank freezes the fiat funds, the service fixes the exchange rate at the time of creating the application, reserves the cryptocurrency, and provides you with 30–40 minutes to complete verification. After successful verification, the service charges cryptocurrency to the wallet.

Quick verification

Verification takes 2–3 minutes and requires only one time to perform operations every day. The “Know Your Customer” (KYC) procedure is necessary to exchange cryptocurrencies for fiat currencies.

https://preview.redd.it/3y0pmzrdwe151.png?width=597&format=png&auto=webp&s=01a92651b67f2df70f83082cfcd3d1fdee5491b4
As you understand, you need to pass verification 1 time, regardless of whether you withdraw funds or buy currency, after passing verification, all services are available to You without any further confirmation.

New currency

Support for other currencies, including TKEY, will be added gradually and highlighted through service updates. As for the TKEY exchange, it will become available in exchange services after listing on the exchange. Listing on an exchange allows you to automate the exchange process, link the necessary services, and most importantly, the exchange provides liquidity, which is key when we talk about exchanging for a particular currency.
We will tell you more about the operation of the service and its advantages, chips, in a separate material dedicated to the withdrawal and purchase of cryptocurrencies for fiat currencies, as well as touch on various banking issues and tell you how you can combine the SWAP service for more efficient exchange and withdrawal to the card.

Charitable activity

By making an exchange or purchase of cryptocurrency, you help children and people who need our help. We deduct 0.1% of the profit from each transaction to charity funds.
This is the fastest and most comfortable way of charity, which allows you to bring together people who are not indifferent to other people’s problems. TKEY enables people to do good deeds, and the resulting turnover profit of 0.1% is sent to charity funds every month. Together with You, we create new opportunities for people in need who need help — “Big things have small beginnings”.
How does it work?
You have made an exchange or purchase operation, the company has accumulated the volume of these operations for a month->the company has chosen a charity Fund->sent funds to the charity Fund’s account. Priority charity funds are children’s aid funds. You can always suggest a candidate for a particular Fund by sending a message to [[email protected]](mailto:[email protected]).
Why do we write Funds and not a Fund?
This is the first launch of the service, so depending on the monthly volume, we will focus on distributing funds to one charity or several. For example, if we have accumulated $ 10,000, we can distribute $ 5,000 to 2 funds. if we have accumulated $ 100, it is logical that we will only send this amount to 1 Fund. With the development of the service, we will be able to focus on several funds, which we will actively help due to the received volume.

New sections, improvements for existing services

Menu logic and site structure

The menu logic has been revised. now more items are available on the menu and they are divided into sections. Navigation through the sections has become much easier and more convenient. for some sections, QR codes are available for Russian and English-speaking audiences, and for representatives of Asian countries, all sections are available by QR code.

https://preview.redd.it/d9ntj1hfwe151.png?width=700&format=png&auto=webp&s=6c068daa450e5f824829a9457bc1bc183615f466

TKEYSPACE Promo Page

New blocks were added, the entire page was fully localized and is available in Chinese, Korean, English and Russian, and QR codes were added for easy navigation for the Asian audience.

Documentation for the exchange

We have already mentioned that there is a section for exchanges with the necessary documentation for listing, now it is available in English. In the next updates, it will be translated into Russian, Chinese (Traditional and Simplified), and Korean.

FAQ

Added answers to frequently asked questions in various sections of the site, You can find the information directly on the section page, for example, TKEY-QT, SWAP or Core. Right on the page there is a FAQ section, in which we disclose answers to questions, for example: How are You going to solve the scalability problem, or why did you choose Phoenix as the logo and symbol of the project, or how do you exchange cryptocurrency for pound or dollars? As you can see, you can get answers to different questions, depending on the topic of the site section.

What is waiting for us in the nearest future?

In addition to various improvements, connecting services, our team has been working every day on other main areas of the Tkeycoin project, which are already being prepared for the next release and we will tell you what updates, what plans, events, and what else will be interesting this year.

Online conference with management

An online conference in question-answer format will be organized. The main task of the conference, in addition to questions and answers, is to discuss plans, talk about new directions, touch on issues of legislation, and analyze current issues of users.
The online meeting format will allow you to get feedback and discuss a large number of issues in a short time. Questions related to technical support and other questions that can be answered through the administration will not be discussed.
The meeting involves the development, constructive, and suggestions from users for further development of the Tkeycoin project. If you are interested in participating in the conference, you can also make business proposals during it, please use the time to your advantage. We work for you.

New content: reports, new categories, useful information

Based on user feedback, we introduce new categories to our content plan:
Reports This section will be accompanied by information about the work done by the team for the month, the format of submission — abstracts, highlights. This format will help establish feedback between users and developers.
Question-answer
In addition to the content that we produce ourselves, users have questions that arise during the process of working with the project’s services, as well as during interaction with the project itself. To avoid making guesses and making up stories, we have introduced the question-answer category.
Users ask questions in comments, and the company prepares answers based on the questions and they are published in the post. Depending on the number of questions, the post generates all the answers, or the post is divided into parts if the number of questions for the past period was the largest. In addition to asking questions, you can make suggestions to the project, for example, about new features or directions.
This format also builds feedback and helps to improve all services. the most important thing is that it can not only help us but also you, as the offer and questions will help you focus on the tasks that the end-user wants to see.

TKEY-POOL (Tkeycoin pool)

We are completing the work and debugging of the official pool for Tkeycoin, this is a completely new approach for mining Tkeycoin. The pool will feature higher performance and stable architecture, a light interface, and objective commissions.
A pool is a highly loaded system that works 24/7/365, it turns out that such a product hides a sufficient number of lines of code and, most importantly, is built on a reliable architecture that can withstand +50000–100000 miners, not to mention the number of connected devices for this number of miners.
A cryptocurrency pool is a combination of the hardware power of many miners at once to increase the probability of finding a block. The reward for a block obtained by the pool is distributed among all participants.
The TKEY pool is developed taking into account the features of the Tkeycoin blockchain, including multi-blockchain, transaction model, hashing, blocks, and other nuances that are an upgrade of the blockchain among others. Together with the pool, the TKEY network is being tested: high loads, attacks, and other tests that show positive results, proving that the TKEY blockchain can work under any loads and is protected from attacks.
Our task was to: 1. Stable system for handling high loads; 2. Adaptation pool for any software; 3. Connecting any hardware for mining cryptocurrency Tkeycoin; 4. Fair remuneration calculation; 5. Security.
The main goal is for any user, regardless of the software and hardware used, to be able to connect to Tkeycoin mining via a pool. The first releases will be accompanied by a simple user-friendly interface, easy connection, instructions for various mining programs that can be connected.
In future releases, we will optimize the operation of the pool, add new features, as well as tracking functions and other nice things. any suggestions from miners and the community are interesting to us and will be implemented, so do not hesitate to send your suggestions after the launch.

TKEYSPACE updates

https://preview.redd.it/fjy2dkanwe151.png?width=700&format=png&auto=webp&s=99dedd6aa59ae7eb4d585d2ef1ddae4cc6dd50f9
Work on the TkeySpace mobile app is also not standing still. We will soon release updates for TkeySpace on Android and iOS.
This release is a complete transition to the most stable version of the mobile wallet. This means that after the update, even with the largest changes, the user will not need to completely reinstall or restore to use the new features, as before, just update the app via the AppStore or GooglePlay.
Between the previous update has been a sufficient amount of time, on average, updates are released once a month. This update will be one of the major ones. We are finishing work on the code to prepare the app for the new features that will be available this year. Besides, we are improving the app’s logic, data processing speed, optimizing the code, restoring order, and preparing for the global market.

Exchange, purchase of cryptocurrency and withdrawal to the Debit/Credit Card

https://preview.redd.it/1maxjrqowe151.png?width=700&format=png&auto=webp&s=cefd5bf1ec823049eeb25640c470024a41c0430c
In addition to pleasant optimizations, the app will display the exchange and withdrawal to a Bankcard, tab with an optimized page for exchange, withdrawal, and the purchase will be available directly in the mobile app. This upgrade will also capture the cryptocurrency exchange SWAP page, which can be evaluated after the update. Other features and new features will be announced by the developers immediately after the release.

SWAP Update

The development team is finishing work on optimizing the SWAP service. Regardless of updates, it is available in working mode 24/7/365. The team is working on improving the operation, optimizing the page, changing the interfaces, improving navigation, and speeding up query processing. This update is also among the upcoming ones, along with the pool, mobile wallets, and other news that will excite.

Network Statistics

In the network statistics section, there are several sections that will be fixed — this is the hash rate of the network and the volume of Tkeycoin. Now the volume of Tkeycoin is displayed by mTKEY, and the graph itself indicates M TKEY, the user may incorrectly understand the volume of transactions in the network, so, given the current volume, it is advisable to switch the display to TKEY, and in the future switch to mTKEY for large volumes.
TKEY is divided into cryptograms (CryptoGramm, cgr), uTKEY (keys), and mTKEY. 1 TKEY = 100 000 000 cryptograms. 1 mTKEY = 100,000 cryptograms. 1 TKEY contains 1000 mTKEY. 1 mTKEY = 0.00100000 TKEY 1 uTKEY =100 cryptograms 1 TKEY contains 1,000,000 utkeys. 1 uTKEY (keys) = 0.00000100 TKEY 1 cgr = 0.00000001 TKEY

Cryptocurrency Exchange

This issue has become the cause of mass discussions, disputes, investigations, the subject of memes, kitchen, and online conversations, that just did not happen, that TKEY is not taken anywhere, someone made guesses that we are waiting for everyone to run away, or TKEY is a world conspiracy and around some actors, you can write a book or shoot a great series, not worse than Breaking Bad.
Jokes, jokes, but the question is serious. Since the 4th quarter of last year, the company has been actively working on the issue of listing, prepared the necessary platform for this, held several meetings, negotiations, released the necessary products, figured out various transfers of funds to the blockchain, worked out many small things, many major issues that were behind the scenes. Everything is ready, and it’s time to start soon. This will be a surprise, believe it or not, and we will meet you on the stock exchanges :)

What other plans does the company have?

Enabling payment at retail outlets

After entering the exchange, we will actively engage in connecting payments to implement them and link them to TKEY. The plan, strategy, and legal component are ready.

Payment development

This implies the development of payments and services that will expand the use of digital currencies in the commercial sphere. Application on the territory of Russia will depend on the Federal law on the CFA, in any case, we plan to analyze the law, after its release, to find a legal way to implement payments based on blockchain and digital assets. Therefore, until the law is released, we are keeping this initiative in the future, and we will work on other jurisdictions that will support it.
We left some plans behind the scenes, because they will make the greatest impact on the market and the value of our asset, and this — likes silence.

What useful materials will be released soon?

How to effectively use the SWAP service together with the exchange and purchase of cryptocurrency from a Bank card?

We will tell you in detail how to use these 2 services, how to save on payments and purchases, how to exchange tokens that are very difficult to exchange, how to quickly get money for them to the card, and much more.

The law CFA

Our opinion about the law of cryptocurrencies in Russia, what to pay attention to, what to prepare for, how to act if there is a complete ban. Let’s talk about legal nuances and banking practices.

TKEY blockchain

In this material, we will talk about the blockchain, analyze the issues of the system, expand the questions on attacks, payment processing, and touch on the system of multiple chains. The article suggests your suggestions, perhaps someone will have ideas that we will implement in the chain.
At the end,
Don’t forget to ask questions in the comments or send suggestions to [[email protected]](mailto:[email protected]) we will be happy to respond and consider your requests for any of our services. Collaboration, feedback, help us make the whole platform better.
Thank you for being with us! Until new meetings, stay tuned for news, updates, because the most unexpected news comes spontaneously.

I think I may have been conned by a company called CRYPTOMUSU

Please can anyone help me? I need help trying to get my money back from a company called CRYPTOMUSU. I like a idiot signed up to this company in hope to earn some extra money as am desperate for it and like desperate people do I looked at what I could do to try earn money quickly and this company come up to trade via bitcoins and all you had to do was pay 190 pound and they would set you up on this app. Now it was very quick to take my money and ask for compliance as urgent attention which I sent over and then said that I had to 200 not 190 because of how the currency exchange rate was. Now ever since they avoid my calls, I cannot naturally withdraw the 200 I invested as that has been translated into some other currency and do not have the option to do so. Has anyone heard of these people or dealt with them? Can anyone advise how on earth I can get my money back?

A financial expert's very negative outlook on Bitcoin.

Hello there people of reddit!
I have translated this blog post which I would like to share with you all. The original blog post appeared in a rather famous hungarian financial blog and it posed some interesting questions. It would be really good if the intelligent people of reddit would start a debate on these topics. There is a big learning opportunity here. I personally disagree with many of the points made in the post while I agree with some of them.
I think that it is important to listen to the negative opinions because we can grow from them and we can either strengthen our opinions by disproving the counter-arguments of others or we can formulate and fine-tune our opinions by accepting partial truths from the opposing opinion. (Maybe we can even change our opinions alltogether in some cases) I post this in the hopes of having an intelligent conversation about the topic and it would be a bit sad if this would get downvoted because then the conversation wouldn’t be able to unfold.
I say let's examine the other side, let's look at their arguments, let's try to understand them and let’s try to learn from them so that we may become smarter, better, and more well informed.
Also this can be a very good test if you think about investing in Bitcoin. If this discourages you then your fundamental knowledge of cryptocurrencies or Bitcoin may not be satisfactory yet or you may be thinking about investing with money what you cannot afford to loose
So without further to do here is the actual blog post translated from kiszamolo.hu.
RTT314
I am writing about Bitcoin. I didn’t want to at all but since everybody is talking about it I had to.
Translator's note: There was a previous blog post about Bitcoin which got a massive amount of feedback in the hungarian community.
The general feedback I received about my previous post on Bitcoin wonderfully resembled the the feedback I got when I wrote about Kairos, Emgoldex, Quaestor and Sitetalk. (these were all scams in their times)
In case you don’t have time to read the comments on my previous post I’ll summarize them for you. Its quite simple because people basically write the same thing all over again (Bitcoin or Emgoldex it doesn’t matter.) The comment categories are as follows:
It’s a good idea to look at those people who wrote these comments a few years back. The people of Kairos who came here (to his blog) taunting and showing off their earnings with Kairos. And then all of a sudden it became apparent that it was just another scam and they lost all the money in a heartbeat.
What did I cover in the previous blog post on Bitcoin?
I wrote, that you don’t know anything about Bitcoin, that you don’t know who is behind it or whether there is someone behind it or not. What gives actually Bitcoin’s value? How do we know that its better than the other cryptocurrencies? How do we know if one BTC is expensive for 1000 dollars or cheap? For a long time people bought it for 1 dollar, then for a long time for 100, then 1000 and now 16 thousand. Which price is the realistic one? Or none of it is realistic and its still cheap? How can I find it out?
I have basically nothing at all to which I could compare its price. Just like in the dotcom bubble when it came to evaluating the .com companies. The normal method of evaluation didn’t work when it came to these companies because everybody wanted to think, that these companies can conquer the whole world. And because of that basically no price was too expensive for a share. And then it became apparent, that in fact even a single dollar was too much for 95% of them.
Just because something is revolutionary and new it doesn’t mean that it has value too. Especially when anybody can copy it freely. This happened with the .com companies too. Everybody learned fast, that just because they are innovative and revolutionary they can’t make a profit and most of them didn’t even worth a penny.
And the .com companies were 100 times easier to evaluate than Bitcoin. At least they had expenses, profits, employees, products and patents. You could at least calculate with something.
Why is Bitcoin considered money? Currently it has none of the properties of money - you can’t pay with it everywhere, it’s exchange rate is not stable at all and because of that it is not suitable for accumulating wealth in it (just in the past 12 hours the price of one BTC was between $16.123 and $17.023 and today is one of the calmer days.)
Anybody can invent a newer Bitcoin and people do so too. There’s almost ten times more cryptocurrencies today than normal currencies in the world and almost every day a new one gets listed. This is because anybody can make a cryptocurrency. You don’t have to have a whole country behind it with its total assets, government, and financial traffic. If you have good marketing you will be a millionaire from a new cryptocurrency. Currently there are 1324 cryptocurrencies and there is almost no day when no new ones are added. On the contrary there is only 180 types of traditional currencies in the world.
I also mentioned, that governments can limit the use of cryptocurrencies any time by illegalizing the exchange of cryptocurrencies to real money. And if that happens all cryptocurrencies will be worthless in a blink of an eye.
I don’t want to get into new ideological debates. I just want to place Bitcoin amongst all the hype into the world’s financial traffic. Where does Bitcoin stand compared to the current world’s financial traffic and does it look like a bubble? Will it really change the world’s financial system and will it really change the old technologies?
Bitcoin’s total market cap was 15,49 billion dollars on 2017 January the 1st and what’s at least as important is that the daily traffic volume was 92 million dollars.
https://imgur.com/a/kI0Ru
Bitcoin’s current market cap (17 thousand dollars) is 289 billion dollars and the daily traffic volume is 12.135 million dollars so the daily traffic grew 131-fold since January the 1st.
One of the world’s biggest bank - the Bank of America’s - market cap is also 300 billion dollars and that is accompanied by 2,228 billion dollars worth of assets which gives one of the basis of the actual evaluation. Bitcoin has zero assets. Bank of America every four months (!!!) profits 22,3 billion dollars and one fifth of this is net profit. The profit of Bitcoin is zero and the net profit of Bitcoin is also zero.
Europe’s 16th biggest economy, Finland has a yearly GDP of 236 billion dollars.
If Bitcoin’s market cap doubles again, it’s market cap will be equal to Hungary’s, Ukraine’s, Slovakia’s, Luxemburg’s, Croatia’s, Bulgaria’s and Latvia’s GDP all together. Or at least on paper. (Of course the actual BTC's market cap and the GDP is very different, but i guess you can still feel the nonsense in this)
People make 337 thousand daily transactions with Bitcoin.
Just Visa alone makes 468 million transactions per day and this is just a tiny slice from the total world’s transactions.
The SWIFT system which is used by banks to make international transfers even 12 years ago made 5 thousand billion dollars worth of traffic. Daily.(!) The similiar Fedwire payment system which works in the USA had a daily traffic of 2,1 thousand billion dollars, the CHIPS had 1,4 thousand billion dollars. And these numbers are 12 years old so you can easily double them to get to the present numbers. And this data is only of three clearing houses out of a dozen! All the national clearing houses in total can have multiple hundred times more traffic than these ones.
Even if we would like to use Bitcoin for just one tenth of the traffic of Visa we would soon have to store a few gigabytes then terabytes of data for each Bitcoin. The whole electricity generation and bandwidth of the world wouldn’t be enough if we would want to manage and transmit this much data constantly. (Even now the Bitcoin network uses more power than Bulgaria. The investors who mine Bitcoin spend money mostly on video cards and electricity. The biggest benefitors of Bitcoin are the chinese electricity providers and the video card companies. Even a whole bank system doesn’t use this much electricity and they execute multiple hundred thousand times more transactions than the Bitcoin’s network.)
The technology is unsuitable for microtransactions. There are cryptocurrencies which are suitable for this but what will happen with you investment in Bitcoin when everybody starts to use one of these currencies?
The future of the blockchain technology is completely different from the future price of Bitcoin which currently is just one out of 1324 cryptocurrencies and for which you paid a bunch of money. Somehow the people who kick back and leave their future on the price of Bitcoin don’t want to understand this.
Just so you understand: I don’t argue whether or not blockchain technology (which is used by Bitcoin too) will be used in the future financial system. I argue whether or not one Bitcoin values 17 thousand dollars or even one dollar as a matter of fact.
Do you think there will be a single bank which will choose exactly Bitcoin when it wants to switch to this new technology when Bitcoin is a completely unsuitable candidate? Or do you think that the bank will choose another cryptocurrency? Won’t the bank simply make its own one?
The total value of all the dollar bills in circulation is 1,59 trillion dollars or 1590 billion dollars. If we look at the M3 (unbounded money in bank accounts, bills etc.) instead of only the bills we get 11 trillion dollars. But even this is only a tiny bit compared to the total assets in the american economy which is 220 trillion dollars.
The daily size of the forex market is (!) 5.100.000.000.000 dollars.
So think again when you see numbers which suggest that Bitcoin is the future. I wrote these numbers just so you can get a sense of the big Bitcoin which is about to knock down the world’s banking system. Just so you can understand the big Bitcoin’s place in the financial food chain.
I’d also like to talk about a common misconception. Many people think that the value of Bitcoin comes from the fact that it’s very expensive to maintain. The mining is expensive. This is called an expense and it has no relation to value whatsoever. Things don’t represent value because they are costly to maintain. This is exactly the opposite of value. The more expensive is something to maintain the less valuable it is. Companies which have small costs value more than companies which have big costs with the same profits.
There’s an old trick in the stocks market called pooling. A few scammers organize into a pool, they choose a smaller stock and they start to trade amongst each other with higher and higher prices. They just have to be careful not to catch attention. They have to increase the price gradually and slowly and the pool has to be big enough in order to stay undetected.
When the whole world goes crazy because of the huge gains on the pooled stock and when everybody wants to be a part of the miracle the pool quietly sell the whole stack of stocks and disappear.
The “investors” which are driven by greed don’t even care about the fact that the evaluation of the stock flied far above the actual value of the stock. How much simpler is this whole move when the given thing doesn’t even have a quantifiable value to which you can compare it to? Bitcoin is exactly like this.
I wonder how are Bitcoins divided amongst the wallets? Could you drive up its value by getting into pools? You can’t drive up its value because it doesn’t even have any inherent value. The value of Bitcoin only comes from the people who are willing to pay for it. Bitcoin only has a price because people want to look at it as money even if it cannot function as money.
The american dollar will have value until the United States exists and its government collects taxes in dollars from the world’s biggest economy and it pays its payouts in dollars. And if someone doesn’t want to pay the requested taxes in dollars the government has the power to imprison the person.
The expression of total financial ignorance is when the believers of Bitcoin state that the real currencies are also based on nothing. The real currencies are just paper too without any value. Every real currency is backed by real value: the given country’s economy, assets, government, tax system give real value to the real currency. No cryptocurrency can present anything like this ever because cryptocurrencies are made out of thin air.
Real currencies can function exactly because of this: because they have value too not just a price. This is why they can be a store of value, this is why they can be accepted in trade. Because tomorrow they will be worth just as much as today. They’re not just empty ping pong balls which are moved based on the needs and wants of the buyer. Potentially 10-20% per day.
(Just for the sake of the smartpants: of course after world wars a real currency can lose value too just like how the syrian fiat lost value too when the value was essentially bombed out of it. The country’s economy collapsed and half of the taxpayers died or fled out of the country. But even this shows exactly the fact, that the price of the currency changes if the inherent value changes. And also the the price of the safety fiats (swiss franc) can be pumped up if investors are panicking. But we only know that their price is high compared to what their value is because it has a value.)
Just because I invent the Reddit coin and create a lot but finite real physical coins it won’t be a currency which has value. Not even if the coins are unfalsifiable. Not even if there will be people who are willing to pay real money for my coins. Not even if other people realize that they can make coins just like me any time (that’s why there are already 1324 types of cryptocurrencies on the market) It won’t be real money even if following the current trend I create this Reddit coin as a cryptocurrency. Money doesn’t become money because I say its money. Neither does it become money because other people believe its money.
But let's take a look at the bitcoin wallets amongst the investors:
https://imgur.com/a/WN163
So basically 97,2% of the wallets doesn’t even own a single bitcoin! And 55,5% of the wallets doesn’t even contain 0,001 bitcoin!
Of course a wallet is not necessarily a person but its apparent that there are many small fish in the sea of Bitcoin. It's good to know this when you read all the comments from the people who try to defend Bitcoin no matter what. Most of them don’t even own 700 bucks worth of bitcoin but they will become rich for life from this investment.
0,01% of the investors - 1.677 people own nearly 40% of the total bitcoins available. (Or it may be that these 1.677 wallets are owned by one person or twenty. We can’t even know that) but even 85% of the total bitcoins is in less than 1% of the wallets. In stocks lingo this is called a low free float.
These people are the ones who manipulate the prices however they want it to. But of course they don’t want it to because why would they want such a thing? The prices are rising just because Bitcoin is the future.
If Bitcoin wouldn’t be the Holy Bitcoin it would be simply called a Ponzi scheme. How does a Ponzi scheme look exactly? They build up a system which is new, which is alluring and about which people can believe that it’s the future. From this you’ll become rich. If you pay enough money now then you’ll be the part of the money rain too. Until more people are buying in than out the Ponzi scheme works great. Nobody realizes that there’s nothing behind it. Just the money of the depositors gives it value.
Bitcoin is genial because it never even stated that there is some sort of value behind it so you can’t even expect it in the first place. Until more people want to put money in than out the price of Bitcoin will rise. I’ll say this again Bitcoin is alive because people want to treat it as money. “This is the money of the future, you are lagging behind if you don’t understand this. Why do you try to find the inherent value of it and the evaluation of it? You are an old prick who has no clue. This is a new world. Deal with it. You have to just believe this and don’t ask any questions.” Do you know how many times have I heard this from the faithful “investors” of the kairos, sidetalk, emgoldex ponzi schemes?
A lot of people wait a lot from the december 18th stock appearance of Bitcoin but it can bring more bad than good. If the big speculators start to go hard on it they can double the price or drag it down to 0 within days. It's rather easy for them because there is no value behind it. Just a price tag. If the British Pound was attacked what do you think what will they do with Bitcoin? Here there is no national bank which will change the interest rates or pull other tricks from its sleeves to defend its own currency from falling or from a rising. Also here the investors won’t be able to say that a bitcoin is definitely worth more than this or not because the whole english economy is not behind it so they don’t have a guide for its inherent value. If Bitcoin was volatile so far you can prepare yourself for even bigger storms.
You think whatever you want and you pay money for whatever you want. You know what? Even I’m telling you that knowing the madness, dumbness, and greed of people it is not unimaginable that Bitcoin will rise to 150 thousand dollars within the next year. But not because its value is that much but because there are too many greedy people who feel like they were left out of a great opportunity but it's not too late to jump in.
But also don’t be amazed if its price will be 1 dollar again.

Fundamental Questions & Discussion - Please Help Me Understand Bitcoin

Hey everyone,
So I've been thinking about Bitcoin for the past few days quite a bit. The price keeps rising at an incredible rate and people seem so enthusiastic about it.
Before buying into it, though, here are some fundamental questions I've been thinking about (but don't have an answer to). I appreciate anyone taking the time to answer, and I'm sure it will be helpful to many others as well!
What do I need Bitcoin for?
What can’t I do already that I can do with Bitcoin? I’ve never made a payment with Bitcoin, and never felt the need to. What have I been missing? How will my experience of buying from Amazon, or at a local grocery store, or paying my bills, or sending money to someone, be different with Bitcoin in terms of convenience, speed and costs? Is that something that traditional banks or current payment processors are going to be unable to replicate?
I can send the money somewhat anonymously (although not completely, right?), I get that, but what practical use is that unless I’m doing something illegal? Since Bitcoin is not totally anonymous, and since governments around the world (including the US) are getting increasingly interested in the identities behind customer accounts at Bitcoin exchanges, is anonymity a strength at all (and if it is, will it be that to a lesser degree in the future)?
Is the value of blockchain technology (which, to my understanding, only releases its value once you build something on top of it, am I right?) being confused with the value of Bitcoin? Why is Bitcoin the big thing instead of the other similar options (I assume one reason is because it has gotten over the hump and people are already using it all over the world, which would be difficult position for a new coin to get into?), and why do we need a ”cryptocurrency?”
How much does the world economy help Bitcoin right now and what will the effects of a downturn be? We have incredibly low interest rates, for instance, and households being in record debts in many countries. When rates increase, people face higher interest costs and start running out of savings, won’t they go to their bitcoins to get some more euros, pounds, and dollars?
How can Bitcoin handle a sudden rush of conversions from Bitcoin to fiat currency? You can’t edit the amount of bitcoins all of a sudden to deal with a sudden increase in volume (a big part of the reason for its volatility, I assume?). Will the system be able to handle that without absolutely crashing? Could people lose their faith in the idea of getting rich simply by purchasing some bitcoins in such a situation? And then what?
The people I know who’ve invested into Bitcoin do so because they expect the value in dollars/euros to rise. They don’t invest because of the technology, or because want to use bitcoins in the future; they invest because they want to make more dollars and euros. Now you might argue that it doesn’t matter if they invest for the right or the wrong reason, as long as there is a real reason for the value of Bitcoin, and I agree. But I still wouldn’t take people buying bitcoins for no good reason as a sign of confidence in the long-term success of Bitcoin.
Also something I’ve thought about regarding the people who’ve bought bitcoins: are they ever going to be able to sell, considering the price is always supposed to go higher and they fear missing out of future profits? For the majority of these people, do bitcoins ever translate into real money? Or will, at some point, people start thinking differently about Bitcoin, and perhaps start to treat it more as a usable currency rather than an investment? I assume this requires for the volatility of Bitcoin decrease. But will that be possible when there's only a limited amount of them available?
If anyone takes the time to answer these questions, THANK YOU!

post by a Chinese citizen on how the China rally started and how it's likely to be in the future (dated October 2013)

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=315380.0;all
reposted from thread dated 10/21/13, price was $190 on mtgox :
"These reports suggests that the adoption by Baidu is a signal that the big vendors are accepting bitccoin - consider the close tie between baidu and central government, that the government may be interested too. It is like saying Microsoft or Facebook started to accept bitcoin. That tapped on the emotion and BTC rose.
I think the big vendors are no way closer to accepting bitcoin in the last week than any weeks before. It is indeed a small change, and signals nothing from big vendors nor the central government at all.
Chinese information technology vendors, including the big ones, in general prefer the studio model. A big company is devided into multiple studios, some companys have 100 studios. They each compete against each other. They compete on revenue and profit, within the embralla of a same company. Each studio find their own ways of making profit, and enjoy freedom of decision as long as they are making money. The mother company acts like a referee, dismissing unprofitable studios and buying out (admitting) small competitors to form new studios; the mother company also act as a protector, backing the studios with tremendous PR and governmental relationship power in case their competitor choose to fight on a different level (which also happens). This fast-proliferating fast-evoluting style isn't very co-ordinated, but it is effective because in general in China our culture emphasize competition, and we like to compete and win and we work the best if competition is physically next door. If instead big vendors are organized like Microsoft to co-operate and create huge products (Windows 7) in 5-year span, the youngsters wouldn't stay on their edge - they need quick confirmation whether they are wining or not - they work very hard but doesn't have much patience. Skipping between studios is frequent, the fast-growing studios get more resource and people.
The recent acceptance of bitcoin is likely a decision of a single stuidio in the embralla of baidu, perhaps trying to beat other studios of the same company. Baidu HQs speaksman said nothing about bitcoin in the whole year. How Baidu HQs treats the move is unkown, and they probably don't have an attitude, for it (bitcoin) is trivial compare to the huge online information market they are already on. News interview suggests this is a decision of an individual studio: "We always try to satisfy the webmasters, so when they want to pay with bitcoin, we accept them". Notice the interviewee said 'webmasters', that's the customers of this studio, not Baidu in whole, and he speaks for his own studio.
Also take notice the customer of this studio (jiasule.baidu.com), the webmasters, happen to be the major group of bitcoin miners in China.
So why such a small piece of news that indicates nothing for sure, stirs up such a rally? More important than the news itself it says Chinese investors are desperately looking for a reason to rally. They perhaps expected bitcoin to be above 1000¥ for a long time, now they only need a slight upward vibrate to rally. And they have a good reason to hope for a rally, for they bought huge amount of mining equipments in anticipation of raise of bitcoin value.
My reading of the event is, that Chinese investors are anticipating a rally for a long time, thus it won't cool down in just a few days. However they are speculating, not having much faith in sustanibility of bitcoin and may be frighten away by small bad news within China. They are less sensitive to western news like silkroad.
In China we have highly centralized political power. The chance Chinese government allows bitcoin on the markets (when it calls their attention) is like the chance U.S. government raise debt in BTC. The big vendors foresee it and shouldn't be interested. Besides we have a monoplay business atomosphere in China (every player are greedy, wants to win and take all), and you don't monoplay bitcoin. I see no reason Baidu being interested to include bitcoin into their development strategy. Small vendors are much more likely to be interested in btc.
(OP is a Chinese citizen in Beijing)" .
If Chinese government pays attention to bitcoin, it would act the same way they do towards shadow banking: fine those involved in bitcoin yet backed by government, and prosecute the entities without gvernment backing (even execute a few, like the unlucky millionaire Wu Ying last year and Zeng Chengjie this year). The charge will be as usual: illegal fund-raising.
Right now there are two points that needs to be considered on understaind Chinese behaviour:
  1. Chinese traders speculate. Few believed in a non-governmental currency taking root, as few believed anything significant yet non-governmental can take root. This translate to a huge bear market when Chinese government acts.
  2. The atomsphere in China is like the roaring twenties which I read from books. Everyone feels like they are ready to make a big fortune. This can translates to potential huge bulls.
My two cents.
. .
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=315380.msg3377991#msg3377991
So it is not the question whether bitcoin can be regulated, but whether bitcoin can obey. Bitcoin trading can be regulated but bitcoin itself bends to no one - which begets the question whether or not it will be allowed to live.
On the other hand, if Bitcoin becomes so significant that the government has to make a decision, and they decided to let it live, the acceptance of bitcoin will have no consumer psychological barrier, because, as you said, we are pretty familiar with virtual currencies.
. .
My personal opinion is that China is in not going to have a robust bitcoin economy anywhere in the medium or long term future.
  1. China currently has a $50k USD restrictions on the amount of money its citizens can take out of the country. Bitcoin with its anonymous nature can easily by pass these restrictions. yeah i know there's AML/ KYC rules set up for BTCchina now but i know that if btc becomes a widely circulated "commodity" in exchange for services and goods that it will be easier to launder and hide illicit gains in bitcoin than it would be to hide them yuan. http://www.china-briefing.com/news/2011/11/11/getting-cash-money-rmb-out-of-china.html
  2. if citizens in China start using btc as a "commodity" in exchange for services and goods that would threaten the stability of the chinese yuan. it certainly would not raise the value of the yuan. i don't see how the chinese govt would encourage this to happen.
  3. the Chinese banks are banned from offering services/goods in bitcoin. that was NOT a good sign. it certainly wont make it easier to start bitcoin related businesses in china. Baidu/China Telecom's immediate removal of btc as a payment option following the offical govt announcement was NOT a good sign. i don't know how anybody can spin those actions as a positive for bitcoin.
  4. i also don't believe that bitcoin is booming in China because it's citizens believe in it as an alternative currency. I believe the price skyrocketed due to greed and pure speculation. take a look at the 2010 China Garlic Bubble where in a few months the price of garlic rose 40-50x due to pure speculation, price manipulation and hoarding. Sound familiar to bitcoin in China? http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=121125739
  5. Plenty of redditors have claimed that China would be supportive of btc because it would devalue the US dollar and raise it's own yuan in value for foreign trade. that's highly unlikely since the Yuan is already the #2 most used currency for foreign trade in the world. China is about to start direct trade with the UK in yuan/pounds. the daily global trade in Chinese Yuan is over $120 billion which is 10x the market cap of bitcoin. http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2013-12-03/yuan-passes-euro-to-be-second-most-used-trade-finance-currency.html
  6. China is a quasi-totalitarian regime that has no qualms about crushing any form of rebellion (labour camps for journalists, tiananmen square, human rights violations, highest # of executions in the world). Bitcoin by its very nature is designed to give the power back to its people, its users. China's entire recent history is about controlling it's people.
tldr: bitcoin gives freedom and power to the Chinese citizens, the chinese government is realizes this and will move to prevent China from ever having a robust btc economy where btc will be widely traded for services/goods. Chinese citizens have a history of participating in mass speculative bubbles without caring about the fundamental value.
(i could be wrong about the future of bitcoin in China but based on China's history i unfortunately might be right. also if any college students are reading this, please don't take out student loans to buy bitcoins, it is a huge speculative bubble in China and if the chinese govt comes down, you will see the bitcoin economy cut in half or more.)

Bipolar Law Student Adventures: Finals Edition.

Finals are going to span from tomorrow afternoon until the 5th of May, so I will just use this as a vent thread and keep updating it rather than do a several-part series on finals or anything like that.
I hand-write out all of my planners. I get those 100 page composition books from the dollar store. Every day gets a page with hours written down the left margin from 9 am till 12 pm. Each book has three months worth of pages. When a day ends, I alternatively fold in the top and bottom corners and it kind of acts like a book mark so I can immediately flip to the current day as time goes on...
This is an obsession. I will open my planner and flip through the pages and write in my class schedule and appointments and reminders and the "expected to-do lists". I've been doing this since March of last year. I now have 4 composition books stashed away in a drawer filled with folded pages and those day-to-day notes and the list of expectations I had for myself on any given day. My steady print. My lawyer-in-training cursive. Sometimes a rare quick poem that escaped from the chemical restraints of my meds.
And always at the end of every semester, in big ALL-CAPS printing, surrounded by a rectangle:
TORTS FINAL 6:30-9:30 PM
SALES FINAL 10:00 AM- 1:00 PM
etc etc
And here we are again, rectangled all-caps scribbles. Together, again. For the last time.
Usually, you'll have a designated "finals week" (which tends to span 2-3 weeks). All the finals fall into that timespan and if you're a lucky duck, each exam will be at least a couple days apart.
But why let a graduating third year enjoy that kind of luxury? Naww...
My first final is a take-home which will be sent out Thursday and turned in Saturday night. Then an in-class final Monday night (preceded by a 10-minute topical oral presentation in another class).
Then we get this nice teeny tiny little break they call "Reading week". But it's not a week. It's about 3 days.
May 2: Final. May 4: Final. May 5: Final.
(Mind you, the "finals week" is schedule to go until about May 17 or so. Oof.)
So I'm about to jump into a sea of sharks.
I go into stockholm syndrome mode. The law is my captor and I love him. I study him. I know and memorize all of his nooks and crannies. When I'm ready to tell the world, I write his life story (my outlines-- usually from memory) on whiteboard stretching across the classrooms.
...aaaaaaaand then I take the exam and forget about him forever [unless a) it ends up being a bar tested subject and I'll be learning it again this summer or b) it's a law subject I want to pursue a career in].
And tonight's the night before it all starts. It's like waiting in that three-hour line for a roller coaster and you're finally gonna go next.
So I will be taking a cruise to Stockholm very soon. I'll try to write home when I can...
Update 4/23 Afternoon: Got my assignment for my take-home final. I wish I can indulge some info on it, but 1) don't want to say anything that would be risk me being identified here and 2) our school does anonymous grading. So wouldn't want #1 to lead to flopping that up.
But I am excited about it. I do have a class in about 30 minutes so I can't jump on the project yet, but I will have all day tomorrow and most of the day Saturday. Whee!
After picking up this assignment prompt and walking outside, my Nate Reuss-lyic-singing friend was out here singing a few lines of "Carry On" by fun. I peeked over the wall to see if he was close enough so I could join him.. he was quite a ways away and just sort of stopped singing, so I just returned to my sitting spot. But it was a nice voice to hear and a nice moment of that bipolar-Nate Reuss Lyrics bonding lol.
Update: 4/24 Early Evening: Woke up relatively early (9:30) and did a chunk of research to start compiling the things I need for this take-home final. Took a needed nap at around 1-3 pm. Got back to work and have spent the last three hours compiling and putting squeaky clean touches on the first half of a two-part final.
Ugh, like I said I can't go into detail on this (maybe after I turn it in and get my grade back, if it's still topical, I'll post the details about it then.) But I'm happy about this because I get to squeeze a little creativity into this final.. which I've done on this first half. And I'm thinking of something cool for the second half.
With over 24 hours to spare before I have to turn in both parts of this final, I'm feeling good :) But I still have to squeeze in more work for other classes this weekend. Presentation on Monday. Trial Practice Final Monday night. Doing some study prep for upcoming review sessions.
I've also got to wake up early tomorrow for a three-hour semi-mandatory bar prep thing. And I also want-need to go to the gym, tonight.. probably in about an hour. So I'm going to set myself up to start on part 2 of this take-home, hit the gym, and curl up with the Bruce Jenner 20/20 interview when I get home (while doing little bits of work on this final during the commercial break).
Update: 4/25 just after midnight: So I would say I'm 85% done with this take-home final. I'm at the point where everything is on the page that I think should be on the page, but I need to spend time going over things and checking to see if I have any loose ends. Getting ready to pass out now so that I can wake up "early" tomorrow for the thing that I gotta do for the...zzzzzzzz.....
Update: 4/25: late afternoon: Take home final is DONE and turned in!!! Now I have to do: Presentation for Monday (only needs to be 10 minutes long so shouldn't be awful), Prepare for in-class final Monday night, get things together for review sessions on Tuesday/Wednesday.
OH and I also have to do the darn school newspaper before the month ends. -_-
Even though I was able to push through with this first final, I feel like I haven't kicked into "marathon mode" yet.....
Update: 4/25 evening: Working on my presentation. It's supposed to be about investing in gold. The class is corporate finance so I've been learning all semester about stocks and bonds and balance sheets and present and future values and all kinds of stuff-- it's the first time I've purchased a special calculator for a class since 2007.
I picked the topic of gold thinking there was something super complex and amazing to it. In the context of a class like this, it really isn't that complex. There's this price for gold that's set by the people who want to trade gold. And you buy a 1 oz coin of gold for that price. So in the context of a class where market value of stocks is based on intrinsic values of companies which is estimated by experts reviewing pages-long balance sheets and financial statements...... Eh nope. Not this. We, as humans, just feel like gold is special, and we pay $X for it. And we've got gold. And if we want, we can sell it for $Y. Oh, and Warren Buffet thinks investing in gold is stupid because gold can't actively turn a profit like a business can. I'll probably get brownie points for menitoning Warren Buffet.
...The presentation has to be 10 minutes long.. I can't end there, right? So now I'm on the verge of an existential crisis trying to pinpoint the moment in time in our human history where we decided to place a value on gold (or any currency) for any sort of concrete reason. And then I have to switch from history and philosophy to science to see that one supporting reason-- although not THE reason-- why gold is valued is because it's an inert, relatively rare metal. Doesn't rust, easy to smelt, heavy, and out of all the elements of the periodic table, Au is, chemically, the most ideal element to create a valuable currency from, with silver and copper coming in 2nd and 3rd, respectively.
But now we have our fiat currencies and the gold standard has been eliminated in almost every country... so why do people want to buy a 1 oz gold bullion coin for $1,200?
The only financially sound reason leads me to come up with ideas worthy of conspiracy.. and yet, as the kind of person who is always expecting worst-case scenarios, it makes total and complete sense to me so I don't knock anybody for thinking this way... in the history of fiat currency, fiat currencies will go up and down in value and sometimes, eventually become worthless. But through it all, gold retains value internationally-- the value fluctuates, but it never falls anywhere near into oblivion.. the price remains relatively high. So one day, when the US dollar crumbles and the economies of the world are running around like chickens with their heads cut off, the people with gold bullion will still have something that's worth something because.. well.. refer to the above paragraphs. lol
...typing all this out has really just been a practice in whatever it is I'm gonna say on Monday. I don't know how much farther I can take this topic...
Update 4/26 early afternoon: So I was stupid last night and the rabbit hole I went down with my gold research lead to me taking a fresh look at bitcoin. Wow. So.. a while back, when Bitcoin was trading above $600 or so, I had used faucets and got 0.015 bitcoin saved up. At one point, that much was worth $15 USD or so. It was basically beer money. I mostly used faucets.
And it's funny because when bitcoin used to only be about $5 USD, this random Bitcoin twitter account paid me 1 BTC to write a poem about bitcoin. WOW. and I ended up just giving that away as donations to friends.
So I looked back into bitcoin and the faucets I used to use and realized that these days, the faucet payout is higher. So I spent quite a bit of time in the wee hours last night fauceting bitcoin. I didn't fall asleep until 4 am (d'oh!). So I woke up today around 1 pm.
I'm trying not to feel bad about it. After all I woke up early yesterday and didn't take a nap to even things out. On the days I don't have to wake up early, I'll sleep in until 11 or 12.. so this isn't that bad. And I did get my final done yesterday.
So that's behind me. Maybe I can start fauceting again when I'm done with finals. But okay. We're done with that now. Back to focusing...
...this final I have Monday night is a team project. I woke up to texts from a teammate asking me for comments and suggestions on his part. So I went into his google doc and made my comments. Now I have to do my part which is to write a script, basically.. I've only written an outline.. I've written a script like this before and I know, once I start and it flows, it keeps flowing... Ugh.. can't quite get to the flow, yet..........
..Maybe I just need more coffee? :-/
Update 4/26 early evening: Took a coffee break and sat to talk to my mom for a while about my school work. She started talking about a party she went to last night with dad. I asked her how they got invited to the party (what the connection was) and she went on a long tangent about the party without directly answering the question.
See, my Monday night final, I have to do a direct examination. Essentially, you ask a fairly open-ended question but you prep your client ahead of time to give a pretty precise answer and prep them so that they DON'T go on a tangent. That's the script I've been working on...
...so I tell my mom she would make a horrible direct examination witness because I asked her one simple question and she went on a tangent that had nothing to do with my question. She was like, this is what your dad and I have always fought over for the last 30+ years. You think just like him. lol.
And it's true. I was raised in a direct examination/cross examination environment. My dad never pushed my to be a lawyer, I decided to be that on my own, but he inadvertently trained me for two decades to think like a trial lawyer questioning a witness. Although my training was in the form of me being that witness.. the witness who got a bad grade or didn't do her chores or the witness who needed help with homework or wanted to talk about education plans. If you don't answer a question a certain way with my dad, a conversation that a normal person would think should only last 5-10 minutes could turn into a 3-hour ordeal. I'm not exaggerating. And my dad didn't raise us that way by design, it's just the way he handled things with us.
...funny when I decided to use this reddit post as my little finals period venting post, I didn't think I'd start unpacking my childhood or my bitcoin fetish or an existential journey though the history of monetary exchange...
Update 4/26 nighttime: I'm trying to give myself a break by watching my regular Sunday Night shows.. Once Upon a Time and Secrets and Lies. My phone is blowing up with texts from a teammate asking me to help him with his part of Monday night's final.
OH NO OH NO RIGHT AS I'M WATCHING TV I SEE BEN CRAWFORD IS GOOGLING BIPOLAR DISORDER. DAMNIT, ABC, AND RISPERDONE... OHHH NOOO. NO NO NO NO NO F** YOU ABC DO NOT PIN TOM'S MURDER ON BIPOLAR DISORDER.
Anyway, after three years of law school, it's been a struggle, but I've more or less mastered the art of thinking twice-- or three times-- before I send off a text or email. This is especially helpful if somebody starts getting annoying or gets me upset. It's an exercise in "professionalism" and if you don't learn it by the time you're sworn in with the bar, it can cause you some problems in the teamwork arena. Text communication is a damn art.
NO F** YOU ABC DON'T MAKE THIS ABOUT JESS HAVING BIPOLAR AND NOT TAKING HER PILLS. GOD DAMNIT.
...Sorry, that was totally topical. I'm literally watching Secrets and Lies while I type this. If you watch the show, it'll make sense to you lol.
So I'm getting a flood of texts from these teammates asking me for their help. I'm the type of person who usually only communicates with a team to make sure logistics are worked out. I'm usually not asking the team for help on things that are minute details that I should be working out myself. And now one of my teammates is hitting me up asking me to do just that.
Option 1: DUDE I CANNOT HELP YOU RIGHT NOW I HAVE MY OWN PART OF THE PROJECT TO WORK ON PLUS ANOTHER PRESENTATION TO WORK ON. (And I say Option 1 because this is usually the visceral immediate reaction)
Option 2: Read his texts with my full attention (when there's a commercial break) and respond with my advice to help him.
I've been doing Option 2 all day.. all weekend, really. I even just made him a video to give him a comprehensive critique of his part of the presentation which he's written out and shared on google docs. I'm SO SO close to switching to Option 1.
Sigh..
Update 4/27 Afternoon: Finished my presentation. On to the next...
Update 4/28 After midnight: Two finals down. Flugh.
I got to a point tonight where I just wanted to get my part of the team-assigned final done and teleport home. At one point during a direct exam on the other side, the guy next to me who was about to do cross-- the same guy who was constantly texting me for help all weekend-- whispered in my ear and was like "so how do you think I should address what he just said in my cross?"
Like, okay, maybe I should be flattered, right? This guy is asking me for advice on this stuff which probably means he values my opinion. But at this point, I was just DONE. I can't THINK for you right now, bro. I just kind of waved my hands and told him "I don't even know, man."
Then I do my part which was a direct examination. I wrote a script for it and sent it to my "witness" ahead of time so he could get a good read through of it and it could go smoothly. I guess you can put some blame on me here for not trying a little more to practice with this guy, but he is a mutual friend of a lot of us in this class and he had played this exact same "witness" part for the other team last week. He didn't do awful but there were a lot of times where he was tripping over words and it felt like he might have been reading the thing for the first time.
He was probably just as exhausted as I was, but it just wasn't making things much easier. I got through the thing. There were a lot of amazing gems I had written in this script and he just didn't perform them the way I had hoped so again-- that's partly on me for not practising beforehand. But I'm glad he did it and helped. Always better to have somebody than nobody and without him, I would've had nobody.
Then later on with a different witness, the opposing side got up to do cross. I won't go into the details but they tried to introduce evidence that they knew or should've known was allowed in-- I tried to do exactly what they did last week and was turned down. So I made an objection. And in part I was annoyed because it was like-- you guys knew I wasn't going to allow this (we exchanged this in a stipulation memo last week) and you knew I wasn't able to do this last week. And they tried it anyway. But it was more than that-- it was just the whole weekend and all the anxiety of working on a team on top of having to do a presentation earlier the same day.. oye. And now you're gonna try to introduce evidence that even I wasn't allowed to get in. So my objection came out bitchy. My professor later characterized it as me sounding like I thought everyone in the room is stupid. Okay, I get that perception and there's no use arguing but at the same time it's like, I'm done. I'm just done.
I know it's a lot to ask everybody else to see things the way I see them, but for five fucking seconds can I get a break?
There was a redeeming moment, I guess. Another teammate had asked us to make comments on his closing. I did. He basically nixed all of my comments without making a single change to his "script" or even acknowledging what I was saying. And I mean that's fine, that's how he wants to do it. But I've had a history of working with this guy and he'll be MIA on the group project and then all the sudden last minute pops up and throws all of his suggestions at us too late and didn't pay attention to all the things we had already said. So seeing him just nix all my comments just added on to the 50 pound weight on my head. But then at the end of his argument, he did make ONE change that I had suggested. It was a fairly technical one but it signaled to me, "you were right on this one, and I'm doing it your way."
That was a nice 5 seconds.
At the end of the night and a long round of comments from the professor, we had to sign in on the attendance sheets (ABA law schools are weirdly strict on attendance records and you've got to write your john hancock on a sheet every class session). So I go up to sign and look up at the professor and he says good job and shakes my hand and gives me a wink. One of those "you did all right and i know that you know that i know that you know that you'll end up all right out there" That was another nice 5 seconds.
So I'm exhausted. And it's not over. I don't have to face another final until Saturday but I've got to go to review sessions that are semi-mandatory and require me to do practice exams if I want to show up.
At least I can sleep in a little tomorrow...
Update 4/29 wee hours: I spent the whole day prepping for a review class then I went to that review class and that was basically my day. Tomorrow will be similar and then I get to really get into the marathon.
Also, today was the official last day of classes which translates to me officially fulfilling by ABA class attendance obligations for graduation. I celebrated with lobster mac and cheese and a cupcake.
I think I may desparately need an extra 48 hours to study. Thing is, I've gotten by on less. I just need to figure out out I'm going to compact better....

Results of "Survey: Cryptocurrencies' language gender"

Alright, didn't get very many responses, but it was fun anyway - a proper researcher can do a decent follow-up :D
Survey: Cryptocurrencies' language gender (masculine vs feminine vs neuter)
original post
The questions were as follows:
There were 31 responses in total. Excluding the languages '564, T****, and John', that leaves 28. Culling 2 further respondents who decided that the English language had gender nouns for currencies known not to have them (Neuter), leaving 26.
Of these 26, 11 were for English (2 specifically 'American English', and 2 'British English'). All of these answered 'Neuter' to all the gender questions.
There were several languages with a single respondent: In Czech, the common gender was Feminine, yet almost all the answers were Masculine, with the exception of the Euro (Neuter), and the Norwegian Crown (Feminine). In Italian, all but the Norwegian Crown (Feminine) were Masculine. In Polish, all answers were Neuter. In Portuguese, the common gender was Feminine, yet almost all the answers for fiat currencies were Masculine, with the exception of the Norwegian Crown (Feminine). The respondent indicated that cryptocurrencies are referred to as Masculine or Feminine, depending on who you ask. In Russian, the common gender was Feminine, while the cryptocurrencies were answered as Neutral (no answers for the fiat currencies). In Swedish, the gender indicated for all questions was Neuter.
With two respondents: In French, the common gender is masculine, but e.g. the British Pound (write-in) is Feminine. The answers to the questions asked were all Masculine. One further point noted by a respondent was that Bitcoin may be masculine, but cryptocurrencies ("une crypto-monnaie") is Feminine. Spanish is subject to the same quirk, with the respondent noting that almost every currency is Masculine, but with the British Pound being Feminine ("(una) libra esterlina").
With three respondents, Dutch is a mixed bag. One respondent termed all currencies Neuter. Another noted the common gender is Feminine, but all other answers were Masculine. The third noted all currencies as Feminine.
With four respondents, German is a mixed bag as well. One respondent noted the common gender is Masculine, two others noted it as Feminine (the fourth did not answer that question). While three of the respondents noted the fiat currencies as Masculine and the Norwegian Krone as feminine, a fourth noted the Norwegian Krone as Masculine as well. Two of the respondents noted the cryptocurrencies as Masculine, a third noted them as Neuter, and the fourth noted them as Feminine with an additional note: "If the counter is just 'Doge' (a Doge), it's ambiguous and I would guess masculine. 'Coin' and 'currency' both translate to a word with feminine article, so words that contain it (a Dogecoin) would probably be feminine."
One observation is that even for fiat currencies, there is often no single gender. The Norwegian Crown in particular is Feminine in several of the languages while the other fiat currencies asked about were Masculine. I would hypothesize that this is due to the word 'crown' - similar, the 'pound' - existing for functions other than currencies, and the gender being transferred when referring to the currency.
Another is that the gender question does not appear to have been settled in some languages yet, as noted by the Portuguese respondent. The answers for Dutch and German are in conflict - with a good point raised by one of the respondents regarding whether one refers to the full name (Dogecoin), or an abbreviation (Doge); a situation that does not occur for Bitcoin and Litecoin so much, but is certain to appear for other cryptocurrencies as well.
Lastly, the formatting of my questions may have needed work. I suspect that some respondents interpreted the second question as asking "is the word 'currency' M/F/N?".
I'll leave you with this gem from a write-in respondent: In Esperanto, there are no noun genders - but Bitcoin, Litecoin and Dogecoin are translated as: Bitmono, Lajtkojno, Doĝkojno.
